The Japanese tuners are moving on to the European and American cars this time around in the Tokyo Auto Salon 2014. Here are a few of them goodies…
Knowing the tuners at the 2014 Tokyo Auto Salon, showcasing the exotics or the latest cars in the market seem to be the awesomest thing to do. It shows that you have the right stuff and you’re up to date with the latest trends, technology and craze.
Thus, we were thrown in with the maddest mods on the latest rides you can think of at this year’s show. These great Japanese tuning houses have open its doors to not just the Japanese cars but also the Euro and American automobiles as well. For instance, we were greeted with loads of the Mercedes Pocket Rocket A45 and their new sexy sedan CLA. Also present were the fast Audis like the R8 in their V10 guise, the RS4 and RS6 and also the TTS. The Japanese tuning scene wouldn’t be complete without having the Italians in as well from the likes of Lamborghinis, Pagani, Maseratis and Ferraris. Not forgetting the German powerhouse, the AMG having one of the biggest booths in the hall showcasing the preferred range for the enthusiasts such as the Black Series and the other range for the masses. Almost like a complete showroom for the silver arrows. Not missing in action were the American muscle cars like Chevys with Camaro and the latest 2014 Corvette, Cadillacs, Chryslers, the fast Ford Mustangs and Shelbies. RAUH Welt Begriff was there too as the car chosen for a couple of booths in Tokyo Auto Salon but Akira Nakai didn’t have a specific booth for himself. Fans of his managed to see the cars in the flesh nonetheless. The Fiat Abarth has a cool variant with mods done to it. You can see them as a chopped top, wide body. Even a full-on race specific mod has been done to this italian mini.
All of the cars at Tokyo Auto Salon were modded in certain ways. None were left stock standard. It is almost a sin to be left stock from the factory. This is what happens when these Japanese tuning houses get competitive with their Euro and American counterparts. Amongst the highlights were the Ferrari 458 done by Liberty Walk, Option Drift Tengoku’s VW Beetle and a few McLaren’s MP4 completing the super car line up in the event.
Gaining the crowd’s attention were also the European and American classics. They were restored and modded to perfection. See if you can spot a few here in these pages.
