Time to Attack as Zerotohundred hits a decade

Published on May 11th, 2010

Everybody’s favourite auto enthusiasts’ forum-based website Zerotohundred, hits the decade mark this year and in true petrol head style hit the track in a time attack challenge dubbed Time to Attack: Sepang to celebrate.

Organized together with High Performance Club (HPC), the first round was held on 9th May at the Sepang International Circuit. Although we reached the place a little towards the end of the track session (it was Mothers’ Day), we did managed to capture some amazing shots, especially at Turns 2, 3 and 5.

The format saw the cars divided into categories according to the tyres. Street tyres were grouped together, semi-slicks were in their own clique and the full slicks battled it out amongst themselves. There were a myriad of cars, from full-street trim that probably did the daily grind for their owners to some highly modified ones as well as full out, dedicated track machines. An what would a track day be without supercars, that were well represented as well.

Even our neighbours down south were represented, with a satisfying turn-out all around.

Heavy showers throughout the afternoon did dampened the mood and even messed with the telemetry equipment, resulting in a long waiting period before the entire system was rebooted and things got underway.

Although the rain stopped by around 4pm, the wet track still laid a challenge to some of the drivers and some of them even eased back on the throttle to play it safe. Only about 5pm did things started to dry up significantly and that saw some of the times fall drastically.

All in all, everybody had loads of fun and there were plenty of smiles in the pits after the session had ended. We’re still waiting on the time sheets from Zerotohundred so we’ll update the post as soon as we get it.

Lastly, we’d like to congratulate the Zerotohundred team on a fine 10 years and many more years to come. There’ll be three rounds of the Time to Attack series and the second round has been tentatively set for 25th July with the final round in December.
