The fever goes on: SNF Round 3 at SIC

Published on April 26th, 2011

Saturday Night Fever (SNF) has become one of the most anticipated event held at Sepang International Circuit ever since the idea was first brought to reality by Ignition helmed none other by Adian Yein Khalid. With a collective experience of a number of race drivers at Ignition, the long lost event that was once held monthly at the long gone Batu Tiga Speedway Circuit (BTSC), rejuvenated by the guys and gals at Ignition for grassroots racers and enthusiasts.

The night race of half track of the SIC managed to attract an impressive number of drivers to take part and battle it out on a proper track instead of on the streets. It was quite a shock when we’re told that Round 2 was graced by the authority following a police report by some nitwit saying that an illegal race was held at Sepang International Circuit. In my opinion, with the SNF, more drivers have been shying away from the streets to the track and that’s one of the best way to curb street racing here in the Klang Valley.

More car clubs and garages have taken an interest and join in the fun during the SNF making it a motorsport carnival at the renowned Sepang International Circuit. Each rounds held shown an increase in terms of participations and crowd and I’d say SNF is one of the best privately-organized event held in Sepang International Circuit.

With the overwhelming interest from a number of parties including unwanted ones such as the reports and authorities making a fuss at SNF, it’s an event not to be missed… at all. Check out SNF Round 3 for the results.
