In pursuit of a future generation with a high level of road safety awareness, Tan Chong Group partnered with LEGOLAND® Malaysia to present the LEGOLAND® Malaysia Driving School. The Park is the first of its kind in Asia and opened doors to the public on the 15th September 2012.

LEGOLAND® Malaysia Driving School is located at LEGO® City and offers a unique and interactive hands-on experience. At the special driving school, children between the ages of 6 – 13 are given an opportunity to learn the rules of the road and drive on a true-to-life traffic circuit.

Upon registration, children will be shown a video and introduced to their LEGO® car that carries the Nissan logo. They will also be briefed on important safety information before being allowed to steer their LEGO cars. The children are then given the chance to get behind the wheel for a real-life driving experience. They need to obey the road signs, steer their cars past traffic lights on curbed roads and other drivers at a maximum speed of 6km/h to qualify for their very own LEGOLAND Malaysia Driving License which will carry the Nissan and Tan Chong Group logos.

Younger children between the ages of 3 to 5 are not left out either as they can attend the Junior Driving School which offers slower single pedal cars while providing the toddlers with the same experience of the LEGO City Driving School.

Expressing his excitement about Tan Chong being the exclusive automotive marketing partner for LEGOLAND Malaysia, Dato’ Dr. Ang Bon Beng, Executive Director of Edaran Tan Chong Motor said, “We are very pleased to collaborate with LEGOLAND in reaching out to children and teaching them about road safety. Our children today will become drivers tomorrow, maneuvering their own real vehicle through real-life traffic. Through the LEGOLAND Malaysia Driving School, we hope to provide children with a first hand experience of driving, while educating them about road safety ethics and being a responsible motorist.”

Dato’ Dr. Ang added that while children have fun earning their first driving license, parents would also be reminded about the importance of staying safe on the roads. “We are planning to organise more safety awareness campaigns for families through this successful partnership with LEGOLAND. Through these activities, we hope to support our Government’s aspiration to reduce road accidents in Malaysia. At Tan Chong, we look forward to safer roads in Malaysia so that future generations will also be able to enjoy sustainable mobility and the pleasure of driving.”

Nissan fans who are in Johor this weekend to visit LEGOLAND can also get up close and personal with the soon-to-be launched and greatly anticipated Nissan ALMERA.

Johoreans would also be able to test-drive the ALMERA at the Desa Tebrau ALMERA Test Drive event. Exciting games and activities await Nissan fans at the roadshow this weekend. Details of the roadshow are as follows:
