The total Japanese domination will return to Sepang International Circuit in June this year for the eleventh time, under a totally new organiser JP Performance Motorsport Sdn Bhd. Perhaps being the biggest motorsport event beside Formula1 and MotoGP, SuperGT is a series of 9 round aggressive JDM versus Conti battles, with brands such as Honda, Nissan and Toyota representing the three biggest car manufacturers in Japan and Ferrari, Lamborghini, Corvette and Porsches representing European superiority.

We’ll be bringing more activities to SIC and turn the whole place into an auto carnival – JP Chin

Two classes will be going off at the same time; the GT500 and the GT300. Fans of SuperGT will be smirking at these facts mentioned, but JP Motorsport is adamant in creating more awareness on the Series itself.

Present at the signing ceremony between GT Association and JP Performance Motorsport was JPM Motorsport’s Founder Chin Jit Pyng. “No doubt, the venture in SuperGt will require a lot of commitment, hard work and dedication from all parties involved, not to mention the financial commitment on the part of JPM,” he said.

“SuperGT is the fastest supercar race in the world, and you will see the biggest number of brands participating in the series. We believe we can capture the interest of many car owners locally who are already driving these brands. In order to achieve these new objectives, we will be introducing a renewed strategy and campaign for the SuperGT Round 3 to be held on June 18-19, 2011.

“For the first time ever, all the 9 rounds of SuperGT 2011 will be aired locally on RTM throughout the season. Various Corporate Social Responsibility programs will also be carried out such as blood donation drive, cultural exchange programs between Japan and Malaysia, tire safety and toilet cleanliness. We will be implementing many firsts in this year’s SuperGT and want the spectators to experience SuperGT like they never experienced before,” he said.

This year’s SuperGT Round 3 in event will have SIC transformed into a full-fledge carnival city with super-duper Japanese kind of fun filled activities.
