Special service campaign to replace brake master cylinder seal

Published on November 4th, 2010

Toyota Motor Corporation has recently announced a special service campaign to certain Toyota and Lexus models to address the possibility that a small amount of the brake fluid could slowly leak from the brake master cylinder, resulting in the unwanted illumination of the brake warning lamp.

UMW Toyota Motor Sdn Bhd has received confirmation from their principal, Toyota Motor Corporation, that there are eight units of Toyota Crown (CBU model) sold in Malaysia by UMW Toyota Motor Sdn Bhd, involved in this Special Service Campaign.

The vehicles affected were produced between 8th Nov 2004 ~ 4th Jan 2006 in Japan. UMW Toyota Motor will contact all affected customers for the special service campaign to replace the brake master cylinder seal.

No other Toyota and Lexus models that have been sold in Malaysia are affected by this campaign. Lexus vehicles sold by Lexus Malaysia were produced towards the end of 2006.

Toyota and Lexus customers and owners in Malaysia may contact UMW Toyota Motor’s free phone line at 1-800-8-869682 for further information, enquiries and assistance.

Current Toyota and Lexus owners, and those interested in Toyota and Lexus models, can also log on to UMW Toyota Motor’s official website, www.toyota.com.my
