With the excruciatingly painful amount of cash that we have to fork out to actually get a good car to run around from point A to B or even to C… no, we’re not talking about B to B massages here, it’s quite a big thing for us to actually take a brand new car to the track. That is our very own daily-driven rides instead of those long-awaited calls from ’em manufacturers to take their new models to the track, which have been quite a long wait after the supercar incident months back. Let’s leave it at that.

It was quite a different thing for the owner of this Mitsubishi… it’s not one of those Satria or Wira wannabe, but an Evolution 8. The Evo8 in human lifeline was not even a toddler when it first grazed the tarmac of Sepang International Circuit. It was merely 2 months old, bought brand new when the owner, some might say that he’s totally out of his mind… made the decision of taking it for a hard spin on the track.

After a taste of hard-driving on the track, the owner had found a new playground I’d say and to quench his insatiable need for speed. When it comes to speed and performance, there has never been a limit except for the amount of cash in your savings, pocket or even the piggy bank that you have at home. This took him to the renowned Millennium Motorsport for a few more tweaks, getting more invisible ponies to be up and running under the hood, and improvement on the handling and braking of the Evo8. Now, it would be plain stupid if you can gun your ride but you can’t handle it and command the ponies to stop prancing when you have to ain’t it?

Millennium Motorsport gained their reputation in making one of the best drag machines in Klang Valley and it has been proven time and time again. I can still remember the 4G91 Vtec Killer machine and way back in 2006, it was given a fresh look, the chopped top purple Satria. The machines prepped-up and tuned by Joshua was one of the best drag machine ever since then. It was quite a shocker when Millennium made their debut in the Saturday Night Fever and Megalap as Millennium has always been known in the drag competition dominating the podiums in its categories but close to never at the tracks.

Piloted by none other than a well experienced driver, Akina Teo, Millennium Motorsport Asia proved their worth on track securing 3rd in the Pro4wd category in the wet and was crowned champion in SNF in the same category. It was quite a feat as the track was drenched to the brim. Running the track with a set of semi slicks made it a ‘lil worst, but the combination of tuned-up Evo8 by Millennium Motorsport and experienced driver such as Akina Teo made it look easy to the naked eyes. They might achieve a better timing if they had plonked in a set of wet tyres instead of the semi slicks.

Overall, the look of the Evo8 says that it’s a fully-prepped track car, but according to Joshua, there will be more arsenal to be included in the Evo8 to ensure its competitiveness on the track as requested by the owner himself. Millennium Motorsport Asia liveries enhances the greyish exterior whilst the carbon fibre bonnet just got me and the rest of those poor sods salivating out of envy. Simply said, it has the looks that complement the performance of this particular Evo8.

It would not be a surprise that this Evo8 will be making a whole lot of appearance participating in various track-minded events planned for 2013. Envious as we may be as it surely is another addition of fully-prepped atrocious machine to battle with in the track… legally, a thousand more of modded beauties on the road will surely be an eye candy to our pothole-laden streets of Malaysia.
