With less than two weeks, tickets for the the Formula One PETRONAS Malaysia Grand Prix are selling like hot cakes with Sepang International Circuit (SIC) urging fans to snap up their tickets early to avoid missing out on the excitement of ‘hottest race in the world’ from the 23rd to 25th March.
“As of today, we are pleased to announce that tickets for Diamond, Tower 1, F Grandstand, Hillstand C1 and Hillstand C3 have all been sold out. We are also excited to reveal that we have achieved 70% of our targeted revenue mark for Race Day at this juncture,” said SIC Chief Executive Officer, Datuk Razlan Razali.
“We are targeting a record 90,000 crowd on Sunday, exceeding the total of 105,000 for 3 days last year,” added Razlan.
Razlan urged the fans to snap up tickets fast to avoid disappointment as this year’s race will be one of the most anticipated in the history of F1.
“Tickets for Sapphire, Emerald, Ruby, Jade, Citrine, Tower North, Tower South, Tower 2, K1 grandstand are selling fast and almost sold out. I am expecting more fans this time around as we will be having 6 world champions doing battle for the first time in Malaysia.”
“With the return of 2007 champion, Kimi Raikkonen, this year PETRONAS Malaysia Grand Prix is expected to be a mouth-watering affair as he will be joined on the grid by current champion, Sebastian Vettel and former winners, Jenson Button, Lewis Hamilton, Fernando Alonso and Michael Schumacher,” added Mokhzani.
Nicknamed the ‘Iceman’, Raikkonen will be making a comeback with the Lotus F1 Team after a 2 year hiatus competing in the World Rally Championship.
Aside from the race, there are also many exciting events in conjunction with the celebration of F1 month in Kuala Lumpur such as shopping and dining experience, public and exclusive events, parties and also a chance to catch your favourite teams and drivers in the heart of the city.
“Among the exciting events that we have in store for the fans are the 4th Putrajaya International Hot Air Balloon Fiesta (15-18 March) and the biggest ever music festival to hit Malaysia, the Future Music Festival Asia which hosts the largest gathering of artists, with over 40 acts set to bring the house down on 17th March.
“Not forgetting, SIC will be offering exclusive pit walk sessions for school children and ticket holders (23rd March, Friday) and hosting a special autograph sessions with the drivers on the (25th March, Sunday). All the drivers including Vettel have confirmed their attendance for this event,” added Razlan.
