Saturday Night Fever revived here at SIC!

Published on December 27th, 2010

After being absent for almost 10 years, the grandmother of all motorsport events for the grassroots was revived last Saturday at the renowned Sepang International Circuit. Back in the 90’s, Saturday Night Fever was the event to look out for as street racers head towards the legendary Batu Tiga Circuit to battle it out against one another instead of doing it on the streets. Back in the days when spanking new paintjobs were never important, what matters most was the amount of horsies churned out from the engine and the ability to chew on other cars.

Thanks to Ignition.my helmed by Adian Yein Khalid who brought back the event, albeit the change of location to Sepang International Circuit, for the racers and motorsport enthusiasts to get it done the proper way… at the track instead of the streets. This time around, the Saturday Night Fever went up a notch with the appearance of podium dancers and hot chic car wash. One thing for sure though, when it comes to motorsport, these laydees will sure as hell heat up the night. Wihout ’em, any motorsport events seem incomplete. With that being said, the Christmas’ Saturday Night Fever had ’em spectators and drivers all sweaty and hot with the sight of ’em pretty laydees performing on three 4x4s placed nicely for a full viewing pleasure of ’em.

Yauzaaaa, hubba hubba, come clean my crankshaft!

Maybe this is what they say about getting it on the back of a truck

Participation was massive as all five categories of Campro Chase, FF Festival, 4WD Battle, RWD Pursuit and Race Cars/Open battle it out on the get-go. The Campro Chase had to be divided into two legs as participation of this category managed to gather up more drivers than expected. With some of the drivers still fresh out from Zerotohundred’s Final TimeToAttack, it was time for vengeance. For sure the next upcoming Saturday Night Fever, this January 15, more drivers will participate and a bigger crowd will gather en masse to Sepang International Circuit.

Okay boys, this is called an 'alternator'

Need I say more?
