RB21 final driver search

Published on December 9th, 2010

We were sweating our asses off in KLIMS at PWTC when we received an invitation to attend the fifth and final Red Bull roadshow which was held in Shah Alam last Friday. As many of you would know, the Red Bull Rookies all-female racing team has been a rather popular display of female perfection during MMER and S1K races since 2008.

Seasoned drivers were completely distracted by their beauties and the greases on their hands and allowed themselves to be consumed almost completely by them, letting them pass while these male dominators stutter.

We arrived early in Shah Alam that day and we were immediately recognised by our very fashionable Traffic Tees (which is still on sale by the way). Anxiety was running amok that day, with expectations running around making sandwiches for the 16 to 21 year old teenagers ready to sit for the simple test, which will be their stepping stone to venture into the wonderful world of motorsport racing.

The test was simple enough; an eye test, a reaction test, driving skills and personality check. All are essential for the driver to complete a race, including the personality test. Well, you’ll need to charm the marshalls and the grid girls, right?

“The turn up was impressive and we are confident that there are many talented and passionate drivers here in Shah Alam. To date, more than 400 participants have made their way to previously held roadshows in Johor, Alor Star, Senawang and Kota Bharu. Listing the top 30 will be hard enough, and we will have to cut down to just 3. They will be judged on their driving techniques, but each participants’ fitness, mental acuity, personality, cultural flexibility, media and presentation skills and other attributes will also be assessed,” said Kenvin Low, chief trainer of Asia Advanced Driving Academy (AADA).

Looks like there’s no place for us old barf to join in, but then again, we can always buy a Lamborghini, strip the whole thing off, get a really expensive helmet and racing suit, and join in anyway. Anybody want to sponsor us?
