In conjunction with the grand opening of Porsche Centre Sungai Besi – Sime Darby Auto Performance also welcomes a range of Porsche models to be added to the local stable. In particular, we have the all-new, highly anticipated 911 Targa 4S (991) model and the refreshed range of Cayenne E2 series alongside.
Porsche 911 Targa 4S (991)
Porsche’s 911 Targa has always been one of the brand’s design icons that marks itself all the way back since the original classic 911. As a tradition to Porsche, the Targa-top’s timeless design is now back, and has matched itself back up with the 7th generation 991 series.
The roof system consists of two moving parts; a soft top and a glass rear window that can be collapsed to store the soft top roof with a touch of a button in just 19 seconds. The return of the original concept, with it’s characteristic fixed Targa bar, breathes a new life into the legend of the 911 Targa in the new models. It stands to renew the Targa tradition of the 911 with an all-new, innovative roof concept.
Styling aside, the all-new 911 Targa has also not lost it’s charm in performance. Still packing the same 3.8-litre DFI flat-6 from the standard Carrera 4S, the engine develops a serious 400bhp and 440nm at it’s disposal. Although slightly heavier than the standard Carrera 4S, the Targa will still accelerate to 100km/h in 4.4seconds (PDK equipped) and handles a benchmark top speed of 296km/h.
Indeed, it has not lost it’s performance, yet at the same time bringing the “sexy” back from the old classic Targa 911s. The perfect weekend getaway sports car.
Cayenne E2 facelift
Along with the launch of the 911 Targa 4S, Porsche Sime Darby Auto Performance has also launched the all-new Cayenne facelift range to our shores as well. 5 different models are available for now; starting with the Cayenne, Cayenne Diesel, Cayenne S, Cayenne S Diesel and an all-new addition to the premium SUV range, the Cayenne S E-Hybrid.
Packing more than just a new fascia change, all Cayenne models boast improved performance and torque, coupled with lower fuel consumption to match. Starting with the Cayenne S, it now packs a smaller, more polar bear friendly 3.6-litre V6 bi-turbo to replace to old V8 powerplant. It now packs 420bhp (20bhp increase) and 550nm (50nm increase) in torque; and thanks to a smaller capacity, it promises to use 0.9litres per 100 kilometres to the tank as to it’s predecessor.
Along with all the 5 new Cayenne models launched, the Cayenne Turbo is still made available in the new facelift body. From 500bhp to 520bhp, the Turbo has also improved it’s performance and increased torque figures by 50nm to 700nm at it’s disposal.
