Here’s something that’s been on the Malaysian market since March this year. BMW Motorrad brought in some interesting machineries, and one of them is the BMW HP2 Sports. The HP2 is a limited edition model and only eleven of this fine piece of engineering marvel was brought in by Auto Bavaria Malaysia.

Now for the technical stimuli. The HP2 is running on 1,170cc air/oil-cooled 2-cylinder 4-stroke flat twin boxer engine and is able to spurt out 133 horses at 8,750rpm with 115Nm of torque at 6,000rpm. The bike is running on electronic intake pipe injection with BMW engine management system and single spark ignition. Compliant with emission standard EU-3, the emission control is a closed-look 3-way catalytic converter.

While the top speed is rated well beyond 200km/h, the boxer engine might make it a little difficult to lean all the way down through corners as seen on one of the pictures below.
Dual 320mm floating discs Brembo monobloc 4-piston caliper for the front and single 265mm disc with double-piston floating caliper are the standard braking equipments available. For a more relaxed riding experience, BMW Motorrad Anti-lock Braking System is optional but it can be turned off.

BMW Motorrad is selling the HP2 Sports for RM158,888 which includes OTR personal road tax registration but does not include insurance. The bike comes with two-year warranty with unlimited mileage.
