We were presented with an opportunity to break our backs and let our throat be as dry as Botak’s inability to be romantic (which was proven quite wrong when he wrote the Toyota MR2 story) when Motorsport Asia engaged Trafficmagonline to organize Modders Incorporated Car Club Gathering in conjunction with AFOS at Sepang International Cicrcuit (SIC) last weekend.
So without further ado, we set out for the journey to break our backs with continuous phone-calls, e-mails, Facebook-wall-posting and smoke-signals to call and get ourselves engaged with car clubs in Malaysia.
When we first sent out the message, we were biting our nails and chairs waiting for replies. To our amazement, forty-three clubs responded and gave us their commitment to attend the Asia Festival of Speed in Sepang and join the Modders Incorporated Car Club Gathering.

Trafficmagonline were ready to direct since daybreak at the Mall area. Equipped with our new cool-fit Tee’s, we started to receive early participants from as early as 8.15am, and the battle raged on all the way to mid-afternoon! EPMC was the first club to arrive and we’re at ease at that time as everything went smoothly in the beginning. As the time goes, things went from bad to worst as most of the clubs came at the same time about 9.30am – 10.00am.
According to Botak, who witnessed the patience-ass-whooping congestion goes way down to the traffic light at the main road. All in all there were six lanes of rides from various makes. The scorching heat didn’t help either as some of the rides were overheated. Anyhow, kudos to everyone for staying as patient as possible even in the heat of the moment compromising a congestion that lasted almost three hours!
We would like to extend our sincerest apologies to those who were not able to enter the Mall area due to time constrain and a few hiccups here and there. We’ll learn, and hopefully the next gathering will be much better and we’ll be able to call upon many more participants. Kudos!
