I was never an ICE guy. In fact when I first mingled in the world of modification, sound system was the last thing in my mind. It was never a priority to me. Nevertheless, the role of ICE in the world of modification has never been a small one at all.
Any modders who went all out to modify their rides will put the greatest details and creativity to ICE to complement the interior of their rides. The amount of man-hours and creativity put to work has never fail to amaze me. But then, it was never the case when it come to the ICE-scene back home here in Malaysia.
The Ahbeng-ness spoiled the ICE-scene almost at all times rather than never. There was quite a number that was quite eye&ear-pleasing here and there but majority of it was just crap. And then, the quality of sound that come out of it were so annoying. Too much bass and it actually spoiled the sound quality to smitherin’. Here in Bolehland, it’s all about blasting the ICE to the max with no consideration of clarity at all. There was even a number of ’em that feature their ICE in a freakin’ standard car! Not cool at all!
When Traffic crews went to Japan back in early 2006, everything changed. The way ’em Japanese actually modify their ICE was extremely perfect to say the least. The sound churned out of their speakers were a prefect blend of everything. The way their tweaked their sound-system made the sound all clear even when they blast their ICE to the max. Clarity is always the name of the game when it comes to ICE for them.
Our dear friend, Kazunori Miyamoto has been the ambassador of Rockford Fosgate for as long as we’ve known him back in Japan. Back then he was rollin’ in the 20″ GMC Wagon and the ride had won him various ICE competition back in Japan. He was crowned champion for years. And it’s all thanks to him for these visuals of ICE during the ACG Kansai 2012. Hopefully the visuals can be sort of references for those who are into ICE.
