The newly appointed Lotus F1 drivers, Jarno Trulli and Heikki Kovalainen together with reserve driver Fairuz Fauzy, dropped into the country for a bit a couple of days ago and made a quick pit stop at Proton’s Center of Excellence (COE) in Shah Alam.

The helmsmen had a quick word with some of Proton’s top brass behind closed doors and were kind enough to pose for the obligatory shots with Proton and Lotus merchandise even though the trio had a flight to catch soon after. Guess they really live their lives in the fast lane off the asphalt as well.

Interestingly, a Proton Satria Neo S2000 was on display at the COE’s lobby and unsurprisingly the car piqued the interest of Finn Kovalainen the most. He took the opportunity to get cozy in the cockpit and shoot a few questions regarding the car to some of the Proton technical staff on hand.

If there were any updates on the Lotus F1 team, the Proton folks were tight lipped and didn’t schedule a press conference for us to try and dig a bit more. In the mean time, enjoy our time with Alister McRae and Bill Hayes together with the Satria Neo S2000 at http://www.trafficmagonline.com/proton-commemorates-podium-finish-in-scotland-rally-with-mcrae/
