Longest Teh Tarik Session in SIC at the Mall Area

Published on June 11th, 2010

In conjunction with the SuperGT International Race series on June 20, the Sepang International Circuit is organising Teh Tarik Session where SuperGT fans will get the chance to enjoy their favourite beverage while watching live telecast of the matches in South Africa.

The Teh Tarik session will be held at the Mall Area and is open to all members of the public.

“The first 1,000 will get free teh tarik, on the house. We know that many race fans are also football fans, and teh tarik session will give them the opportunity to hang out with their friends and watch the matches on big screens here at the circuit,” said SIC CEO, Razlan Razali.

Such sessions are a favourite Malaysian pastime, where friends and acquaintances get together to catch up on the latest news or events.

The session will start on June 19 at 7pm, and the normal prices for the food and drinks applies.

Aside from the Teh Tarik session, SuperGT fans who wish to take a closer look at the SuperGT race can do so by taking part in the Circuit Safari.

The Circuit Safari is where fans are placed on low-loader buses going around the track while the drivers in their GT500 and GT300 machines weave around the 5.543-km track during their practice session on Sunday, June 20, right before the race starts.

The limited passes are available at RM100 each, and SIC are providing 10 buses for the Circuit Safari.

The Super GT International race series is held annually and takes place on renowned Japanese tracks such as Motegi, Fuji Speedway and the Suzuka Circuit. It has long been known among motorsports fans as a powerful combination of dazzling mean machines and their beauty queens.

The series was first brought to Malaysia in 2000, with cars divided into two different groups; GT500 and GT300 (based on the car’s horsepower). This year, 13 cars and 26 drivers will be battling for the championship title in the GT500 category, while 19 cars with 38 drivers will be competing in the GT300 category.

The 2010 Super GT International Series would also be featuring the new GT4 Asia Cup, the GT3 Asia Series, Yaris/Vios Experience Race in Sepang as well as the environmentally-friendly Scirocco Cup as the support races.

Tickets for the Main Grandstand are priced at RM100 and tickets for K1 area are priced at RM70. Tickets for the circuit safari are priced at RM100, while parking charges are priced at RM5 for cars and RM2 for bikes (per entry).

The tickets can be purchased at the SIC ticket counter in KL Sentral, or at many other SIC ticketing booths located at Level 4, Pavilion KL; Ground Floor at the new wing in Sunway Pyramid as well as the main entrance of Empire Shopping Gallery. The tickets are also available at several participating outlets as listed below.
