The capital city of Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur held the first ever KL Grand Prix in the streets of the city itself.
Four races were held during the 3 day duration (7th till 9th August ) of the event, Formula Masters,V8 Supercars, KL GT City Race, and the main event, Lamborghini Super Trofeo Asia Race.
The streets of KL were erupted by the sound and speed of fast racing cars race through the close quarters of the circuit which brought many nail biting moments and incidents for the drivers and spectators alike.
But! During the race, the V8 Supercars Street Challenge series from Australia captured the most attention during the event.
They came in small but went out in a big way everytime they were on the track doing high intensity driving which gave so much excitement for the spectators. Im pretty sure that Malaysian’s would love to see them come back again and we hope so too!
Being a street race, for sure there will be some casualties, and there were no shortage of it either, sadly. Almost every race category claimed a few cars that took them out of the race.
Overall, the KL City Grand Prix hopefully will make its mark as a permanent fixture on Malaysia’s motorsports calendar in years to come.
It was definitely a fresh scene for the motorsport fans and enthusiasts from the usual circuit race at Sepang International Circuit. See you again KL Grand Prix!
