It has been a norm for car clubs and all other clubs except for night clubs to gather up and go for a drive during the weekends. Those who are usually on the road early during one of these weekends can see supercars, superbikes, drifters and even cyclists in a group making their way to their destination of choice.
Believe me when I say, it has been part of the activities being in a club. Malaysians have adapt to this activity and it turned out to be quite a popular culture among us all. Speed junkies/drifters/touge sprouters would head out to B roads which is windy and extremely breathtaking as you take the corners pushing both the car and yourself to the limit.
But then, we’re not talking about touge addicts here, even then, some of the rides in this club are modded, and having said that… it does look good on the move or even parked and it might not be a surprise a number of it are fast movers as well. Now let’s reminisced the search for breakfast with the KL Swifters.
By 8.30am in the morning the KL Swifters met up at Kajang Rest Area before departing towards their breakfast destination. 12 Swifters’ rides made up the convoy before being joined by another 4 other Swifters as they stride along the PLUS Highway.
In less than an hour, they reached Senawang Toll where another 4 more Swifters, members from Senawang and Seremban joined the convoy. In total, 20 Swifters arrived at Dataran Senawang for breakfast. While they enjoy the various delicacies at Dataran Restaurant, members took the opportunity to get to know each other and talk about… cars of course!
Photo session is a must and so they get it done with and proceeded to the infamous Leman Dawi chendol for a ‘lil bit of dessert. Dessert? After breakfast? That’s unheard of but then we do live in Bolehland right.
Here’s a bit of KL Swifter. It was officially formed back in 2007 and started of as small group in a larger Swift owners community by 3 founding members Affendi (fendyvsyu77), Mohd Fairuz (Icezman) and Mohd Hisyam (Karl).
KLSwifter went independent from the larger group and established its own forum, www.klswifter.com. As of today, there are 400++ registered members in the forum and around 100++ active members all around Malaysia.
Eventhough it was named “KL” Swifter, the members are not limited to Klang Valley Swift owners only. KL Swifter have members from Up North (Perlis, Kedah & Penang ) to Down South (JB). Kl Swifter is made of smaller group known as Divisions among ’em lot. (KL Swifter ‘Northern Division’, JB Division, KB Division and Kuantan Division.
Perak Division and Negri Sembilan Division is in the process of being established. KL Swifter is not only limited to Malaysia as they have members from neighbouring countries such as SG (SG Division) and the latest addition to the Swifter family, Brunei (Brunei Division).
