Honda high for March

Published on April 12th, 2010

It’s a slight case of March Madness for Honda Malaysia as they have recorded sales of 4,041 units for the month, a highest monthly record in the company’s history. Furthermore, they are well on their way to hit the annual target of 40,000 units having already touched the 25 per cent mark following the record sales for March.

“It is indeed a pleasure for us to be reporting good news to the public. Thanks to our customers, Honda products remain a choice of great value. Such encouraging sales record would surely drive us harder in providing the best for our customers,” said Toru Takahashi, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Honda Malaysia.

Leading the Honda charge has been its bread and butter City model that has proven to be a hit with local motorists, notching 43 per cent of the total sales with over 4,000 bookings on the cards.

The newly facelifted CR-V is also getting in on the act with 556 units sold, well above the targeted 350 units Honda had hoped for with a further 1,600 bookings waiting to be filled.

Not to be outdone, the classic workhorses of the Honda stable, the Accord and Civic, have also contributed significantly with 19 per cent and 18 percent respectively too the total sales.

While the CKD models are usually the bread winners, the CBU models shouldn’t be overlooked as well. The Jazz and Stream account for six per cent of the total sales.

Numbers don’t lie and Honda’s year can only get better, especially with the introduction of the Freed compact MPV on the 22nd of this month.

Thus with the great sales so far and the upcoming Freed, Honda are very confident of achieving their annual sales target of 40,000 units.
