GT3 Cup takes a sip from the GT3 RS’s cup

Porsche’s racing series are arguably one of the most regular rounds to be held the globe over. A plethora of racing classes from the Carrera Cup to the GT3 series has made this the par for course of the motorsports world.

Just a few winks ago Porsche decided to make its track-assassin 911 GT3 deadlier with the 911 GT3 RS and rightly so it has given the same treatment to its off-the shelve GT3 Cup cars.

The GT3 Cup now casts a wider shadow, gets closer to terra firma, produces more downforce with enhanced aero work, burbles with a competition-spec exhaust, sits on racing wheels housed under flared wheel arches, rests on firmer suspension settings and much more.

For the lucky person to tuck their fanny’s into the carbon-fiber full-bucket seats, a revised steering wheel features controls mounted on the fascia that are hooked up to a fully-adjustable column.

Motivation, for the car that is, not the driver, comes from the 3.8-liter flat-six power plant of the GT3 RS. The massive 450hp will prove to be sufficient for the track, especially taking into consideration the stripped out interior, giving it a higher power-to-weight ratio.

It comes only in white and will set you back a cool USD215,000 with loose change for a paintjob perhaps. If you want more shots of this track-toy you’ll have to wait for the Frankfurt Motor Show come next month.
