Ferrari FF Makes Its Malaysian Debut

Published on August 17th, 2011

The FF, Ferrari’s first ever four-seater, four-wheel drive car has officially made its debut here in Malaysia. Dubbed as the uniquely powerful and versatile, the FF has generated great interests far and abroad since its international launch in the 81st Geneva International Motor Show earlier this year.

Unveiled at the NAZA ITALIA showroom in Petaling Jaya by Dato’ SM Zulkifli and Mr Paolo Ferrari, the FF is scheduled to be displayed at the showroom for the week.

The Ferrari FF, changes the whole GT ‘sports car’ concept and can be hailed for nothing short of a revolution in the auto world. A Ferrari made ‘sports car’ that carries the very latest 6.3-liter V12 powerplant which produces 660bhp on demand, and delivers a blistering quick 0-100km/h in a mere 3.7 second with 2 extra passengers. Fact.

The sleek Pininfarina-penned profile does well to exude the elegance, beauty and art in its soul. However, revolutions weren’t made just by looking good. The FF is a matter fact, designed by Ferrari to tackle the toughest, most complex and ambitious of driving challenges. Challenges set by the uncompromising and discerning drivers, that demand that their cars give of their all. Anytime, anywhere, in any weather or road conditions.

Exaggeration? Not quite. We shall let this video do the proofing.

How the FF achieves this, is through the sophisticated 4RM All Wheel-Drive System. A nine-speed dual-clutch dual-transmission system that was designed and patented by Ferrari themselves, which allows the FF to keep most of the power to the rear, about 80% in fact and keeps the driver emotion geared into high most of the time. Speaking of which, I’m not ‘high’ as you may suspect when I did mention nine-speed above as the car actually does run two transmission cases that does separate duties for the front and rear, two ratios for the front and seven for the latter which is the main.

What you can really get high on, is the choices of available trim for the FF. Or the smell. From the finest Frau aniline leathers which is specially treated to enhance their natural softness, and six exclusive colours that is blended specifically for the FF.

All that, for an estimated RM 2.8 million.
