Drag Battle Round 3: Lower reception compared to Round 2

Published on July 23rd, 2009

As the complaints from both spectators and participants was not entertained, the third round of Drag Battle at Sepang International circuit received a luke warm reception from both spectators and participants. As the organizer maintained the entrance fee and continue to ignore the masses, the event is fast losing both spectators and participants. The atmosphere was rather bland rather than what it should be… livelier and happening for the young-uns.

Somehow or rather the crowd control was better and the organizer had an easy night compared the previous rounds. There are two entrants that managed to hit 10 second mark and I would say this is quite an achievement by the local tuners ever since the first drag battle few years back.

I would say that with lower entrance and participation fees, SIC will receive a better reception and it would be good if the participation of the neighboring countries such as Thailand, Singapore and even Japan to be considered. It will bring the Sepang Drag Battle to another level of event whilst provide more challenges to the local tuners to beef up their mean machines to beat or be at the same par as the more experience countries in the arena of drag racing. Malaysia BOLEH!

They x mind I guess, with the new price they got the same revenue as before minus the crowd and maybe in the future lower competitors. Let just hope those who are not competing do not end up as illegal dragsters.
