Continued Success for Camry Thanks to Refreshments

Published on September 3rd, 2009

One of Toyota’s many success stories, or rather models in Malaysia, the Camry, is set to continue being a success for Toyota after a bolder and sportier looking model was recently unveiled boasting refreshed features, styling and accessories.

With 10% of total Toyota sales in Malaysia this year being that of the Camry, which amounts to almost 5,000 units, it comes as no surprise that the Camry has been labelled as Malaysia’s leading executive sedan.

President of UMW Toyota Motor, Kuah Kock Heng said proudly, “Over the years, the Camry has built a strong reputation for its quality, reliability, comfort, and stylish design. It has become the Most Popular Mid Sized Executive Sedan.”

He also said that, “This success has continued with the current generation Toyota Camry which was launched back in October 2006. We have already sold more than 28,000 units, thereby cementing the Camry’s position as the most preferred ‘Vehicle of Choice’ for executives who wish to make a statement”.

The new and refreshing Toyota Camry comes in three variants just like the previous model; 2.4V, 2.0G and 2.0E, with the refreshments coming in the form of changes  to the exterior, to convey a sense of prestige with a premium image of the Camry. Changes include the redesigned front grill, headlamp and bumpers. The rear combination lamp design and alloy rims complete the refreshing new outlook of the new Camry.

Apart from looking fresh, the new Camry also sports new features that are both interesting and enticing, such as the Smart Entry and Start System for the 2.4V model only, cruise control for leisurely drives on the highway without tiring or straining one’s right foot, and an Auxiliary (AUX) Jack that enables portable music devices like the iPod to be connected for more personalised music listening pleasure that will most definitely contribute towards heightening driving comfort and pleasure.

Colour is also another aspect that Toyota has improved on for the Camry with the introduction of a new colour – Grey Metallic, besides the five body colour choices already available for the new Camry. Due to the increased popularity, the Pearl White colour, which has replaced metallic black as the new ‘In-Colour’, is now available for the 2.0E as well.

The on-the-road price with insurance for private registration of the new Toyota Camry is as follows:-

2.4V – RM174,990.00

2.0G – RM154,990.00

2.0E – RM144,990.00

These prices reflect the enhancements that have been made to all the three variants.

With such a reputation and history of success under its belt, UMW Toyota Motor is confident that it can sell more than 1,000 units of the new Camry per month.

The new and refreshing Toyota Camry is now available for booking at all Toyota outlets nationwide, although the cars will only be available at all Toyota outlets starting from the fourth of September in Peninsular Malaysia, and from the eleventh of September onwards for East Malaysia, including the Federal Territory of Labuan.
