Continental Sime Tyre unveils the Opening of the first BestDrive Continental Passenger Car Centre in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah

Published on October 22nd, 2009

Bintang Ramai Sdn. Bhd., in partnership with Continental Sime Tyre Sdn. Bhd. (CST), recently launched and opened the first BestDrive Continental Passenger Car & Light Truck (PLT) Centre in East Malaysia, Kota Kinabalu, Sabah.

Becoming a part of the BestDrive family is recognition by CST of the professionalism and the engagement of Bintang Ramai along with the company. Bintang Ramai is joining, without any doubt, the new Malaysian benchmark in the local tyre industry that CST has set with this kind of premises. These are the very best outlets that a consumer can find in the country and CST are rightly so proud of this. It is also joining an internationally recognized premium brand that requires from its partners the highest possible levels of service that the most demanding customers come to expect and deserve from a CST BestDrive centre or outlet.

According to Benoit Henry, Chief Executive Officer of CST, the BestDrive PLT centre empowers their partners with the ability to make use of this brand’s reputation to become positioned as uniformed, specialised tyre dealers catering for the premium customer segment, whereby their premium brand attracts premium customers; their global network provides premium products; and they have marketing support that facilitates premium sales efforts and strategies.

CST readily provides expertise and advice for the setup of a premium BestDrive shop concept, shop layout and customer-friendly tyre-changing and car-service environment. In a BestDrive Continental PLT centre, the customer will enjoy a stress-free environment.

He added that in these times of economic uncertainty, it is of the highest importance to be equipped with the best tools available in the market. “This is exactly what we are aiming to do with our dealers and all the development programs we are currently running and plan to run. With BestDrive, the consumer will be Best Equipped in all senses of the word ‘best’.”

“We have now completed a total of 16 BestDrive Continental PLT centres throughout Malaysia, with this being an important milestone of an achievement as it is the first for East Malaysia,” says Benoit Henry proudly.

In line with the concept of BestDrive PLT centre, Bintang Ramai offers a range of Continental tyres for various passenger cars and light trucks for their customers who demand premium tyres, including ultra high performance vehicle owners, who have more discerning needs, both in terms of products and services.

With the Dunlop & Sime Tyres brands complementing, they too have a range of products for all Malaysian motorists. They offer a wide range of services such as wheel alignment, balancing, nitrogen gas, as well as tyre-repairing by a capable team of well-trained and professional specialists using the latest state of the art equipment.

Bintang Ramai also provides the following complimentary services:

  • Astro TV viewing
  • Wi-Fi internet connectivity
  • Beverages
  • 10-point safety and maintenance check
  • Service reminder
  • Cool and comfortable air-conditioned waiting room

Bintang Ramai started their first tyre retailing business exactly three decades ago back in 1979 in a rented shop lot, handling all sorts of tyres. They were converted to become a member of the BestDrive Continental Passenger Car & Light Truck (PLT) Centre family only recently, earlier this year. The group currently has a total of 4 outlets. This year also marks Bintang Ramai’s 30th anniversary.
