Published on October 1st, 2010

Most of us will be probably familiar with the famous tagline ‘Kids Eat For Free’.

But, here at the upcoming Shell Advance Malaysian Motorcycle Grand Prix, Sepang International Circuit – promoter and organizer of the event – will be offer kids free pit walkabout – an opportunity to get them close to the bikes and the riders at Sepang Circuit.

“It’s a programme that we have included in our race programme since the last few events. And, they are hugely popular and we are happy to do our part in generating greater interest in the sports among the kids and the grassroots. The programme also serves as an educational tool as we try to educate young Malaysian on the sports. Hopefully, it could instill interest in them from young to become actively involved in the sports later.”

“As shown by our young 125cc rider Zulfahmi Khairuddin, there’s plenty of talents among Malaysians… we need to work harder to identify these talents and provides avenues for them to compete internationally,” says SIC Chief Executive Officer Razlan Razali.

Exclusively for children below 12 years old, SIC would be opening the pitlane to them on Friday (October 8) for the Kids Pit Walkabout Programme; from 10.40am to 11.30am.

“Parents can join them as well; but they would need to have the race tickets,” said Razlan, adding that those interested should come early and gather at the entrance of Tunnel 2 at the Mall Area. We are actually opening the Friday session free to fans. Again, this is our effort for development of Malaysian motorsports and giving the opportunity for Malaysian fans to enjoy a world class event right here at their own backyard,” said Razlan.

Slotted as Round 15 of an 18-leg MotoGP world championship this season, the 2010 Shell Advance Malaysian Motorcycle Grand Prix will see the battle for the world crown climbing its climax with Jorge Lorenzo and Toni Elias on track to seal their overall title in Sepang.

Tickets are priced as low as RM30 for entry for both Saturday and Sunday and they can be purchased at the circuit or via internet at www.sepangcircuit.com.
