Spanking wide Datsun Triple S!

My faithful green has been in and out of workshop, making the mechanic’s life miserable just to rectify one problem… my aircond. I have to admit that it is really cold when it’s working but the expiry date really gets to me. It can only lasts three days max.
The most would be a week with air conditioner and then it went boom! I mean it quite literally, damaging the whole system as the compressor ripped the belt in a pretty dramatic manner. It’s either that or the air conditioner hose …

Mazda Astina B6: Found and Lost

I have never dreamed that one day I would be driving a modified car, since my heart and soul had been firmly planted on Yoshimura pipes and Battlax tires with the throttle on my right hand and the clutch on my left. So you can probably say I was a little shocked when I was, errr, influenced to install 17-inches on all fours of my Mazda Astina with super-hard Hi-Lo PRS Adjustables and found myself dreaming of that sweet, sweet B8 engine with LSD gearbox.
I blame Botak and Am for …

Prowling Monster Laser

Back in the mid 90’s, Ford was considered as one of the best platform for modification especially the Laser model… regardless whether it was the hatchback or the infamous Ford Laser coupe or Ford ‘Sampan’ as we used to know it back in the days. Damn I’m old.
The most prefered power transplant was Mazda’s B6 with sneezing turbo, the B8 180hp or the B8 210hp for those with a bit more cash in their quest for power. Since then, Ford lost its touch with ‘em modders even when they came …

Ceffy-liciously VIP’d

It’s always nice to see them modded rides cruising down that road with enough stance and visual quality that begs for a second glance. One look is enough to know that some of these cars are fully loaded, or done properly. One look is enough to tell you that these cars are taken care very, very well.
Not to mention the moolah spent on the car, of course.
Sure, some people say that they mod their cars to suit their VIP lifestyle, or their need for speed. Please, modding is not just …

Kamal Motor’s EK9 Type-R

Let’s get to know Kamal Motor and their latest addition to their arsenal…
Malaysian Super Series round 4, Super 16 class and the cars were prepared and ready to race. On the track, lights went on and blast off! And one of them, was this Honda EK9. Sadly, the car did not make it to the end. In Race 1, Sharul Hisham lose control of the car when it was smooched rather violently on its rear end and went off track. The car’s rear bumper was lost too when the car …

‘Lil White Micro Machine!

What would you do with a ride that you have owned for the past 15 years? Would you bring it in for inspection to renew your road tax once it’s due… and that is provided you get away with the inspection with flying colours, meaning that your particular ride comply with all the regulations and what’s not… only then you’d get your road tax. But then the plan has been scrapped by the government. So what else can you do? In this case, it’s a Daihatsu Charade Aura… selling it …

Blast from the Past: The Mighty Evo VI

Mitsubishi’s rally-bred, four-door, sedan, supercar drives like a rocket and still manages to thrill and provoke an adrenaline rush, says Azdee Amir.
About two months ago, an unused performance part that was sitting idle in the storeroom was put up for sale in a popular buy and sell website. An adamant, interested, prospective buyer answered to the posted advertisement and a meeting was set up for the transaction to take place at Carreta Cafe in SS1, Kampung Tunku, Petaling Jaya, Selangor.
At CaRreta Café, the adamant, interested, prospective buyer was met, and …

Threeblings!

How do you get a Honda NSX, a Nissan R34 Skyline GT-R, and a Nissan 350Z Fairlady to be in one place at one time? No, I’m not talking about what’s impounded at the local police station. I’m talking about the real thing, R34 with scissor doors on 20″, Veilside-kitted 350Z also on 20s and an actual but stock standard first generation NSX bringing up the rear.
Simple.
You take three of your kids, get them valid or ‘not-so-valid’ licenses and give one each to them. You will either create a hell …

Magic55’s Blisteringly Quick Nissan Silvia S15 Spec-R

Many performance car enthusiasts, speed junkies, drifters and drifting fans would not at all mind owning and driving a Nissan Silvia S15 Spec-R. It is an incredible, head-turning, force-fed induction, rear-wheel drive coupe from Nissan that is sadly no longer in production, as production ended at the end of 2002.
It is the Silvia S15’s reputation and notoriety for performance that led to Magic55 selling his beloved Mivec-powered Satria Gti in favour of a Nissan Silvia S15 Spec-R about two and a half years ago. Magic55 owned the Mivec-powered Satria Gti …

DTM-inspired Vectra B: Lesson learnt!

Opel Vectra B or any other continental makes apart from Beemers and Mercs has rarely been the canvas of choice when it comes to modding purposes here in Malaysia. The fact that the urban legends of these continental marquees, such as expensive to maintain and the difficulties of finding spare parts, contributes to the lack of modified Vectra scrapping the Malaysian roads. What we have here is a DTM-inspired Vectra B from standard to its prime complete with battle scars it has earned in a mere 6 month-period.

Early this year …

A class act of a compact car

For many, especially compact car enthusiasts and fans, this curiously-styled, boxy little Perodua Kenari that has been totally transformed into a unique and to some, rather interesting and odd-looking compact car, is a way and means of being different on the road and a form of expression of one’s liking and passion for classy and stylish compact motoring.

Compact cars like the Perodua Kenari, Perodua Viva, Perodua Kelisa, and even the likes of the Hyundai Atos and the Naza Sutera, or Forza as it is known as nowadays, are no longer …

A night of riding Shotgun

It’s been quite awhile since I got my hands on a crotch rocket and I was ecstatic when I got the permission from the owner to have a try on it. My first ever ride was a C70 ‘Kapcai’ and it was quite a horrid experience as I accidentally wheelied the bike into a 13-foot drain at the first rev while leaving the pillion face-first into the tarmac. After that first experience,  there was quite a few accidents I had but as someone who I can’t quite recall his name …

A day with an unassuming superstar… ooops, we meant supercar.

You’re just asking for ridicule or adamant on proving you that you live under a rock or in the Vulcan planetary system if you don’t know the continuation of Nissan’s legendary supercar killer in its next incarnation the, CBA-R35, or R35 for short and minus the Skyline moniker, the name’s just GT-R for this tarmac scorcher.
Additionally, if you’re a regular… every time the Japanese racing extravaganza makes its lone and annual and lone pilgrimage outside the Land of the Rising Sun to our sunny shores, you would recognize this fine …

Built for the ride

Ridiculously huge rear tyre, loud punchy exhaust note, and chrome, lots of it. Yup, it’s a full-fledged chopper, and you can’t mistake it for any other type of bike.
Too much chrome? Nonsense. This bike was built from ground up, except for the engine, which came straight from 1,340cc Harley-Davidson Softail Heritage. Everything that’s on the chopper was custom built to fit the owner’s exquisite taste, and that is understating it.
The chopper is sitting on custom-built 18″s and using Avon tyres, the same tyre used by Bentley. The sprocket, brake calipers, …

Hondaliciously tangerine machine

This totally done-up Honda in the engine department was supposed to be featured in issue #25… but as you know it, it never made it to the stand… let me rephrase that… to the printer to be factually right. After three years, Let us make it up to the owner (do you still on this ride?) and get it online. The specs of the car awed us all during the photo-shoot three years ago.
On the looks department the carbon fibre hood complemented the paintjob and I would love to test …

Evolution times two… equals to twice the fun

These two white EVOs were supposed to be the cover of the unpublished issue #25. Both were superbly done in terms of looks and power output. Somehow our absence in the motoring scene made us lost the tech specs of these awesome rides in the bid of surviving the blow of Traffic closing down.
I would say it’s a blessing of disguise as now instead of you have to pay a mere sum of RM9.90 before… now you get the full view in colour for free thanks to the world wide …
