EPMC’s 2010 AGM at Pasir Salak

I was informed by Ariel of the AGM but I was a bit reluctant to go since I’m not an EP owner. But then, come to think of it… what the heck… cruising all the way to Pasir Salak would give me the time needed to relax… or so I thought.

Since last Friday was the celebration of Maulidur Rasul, it was a holiday for us all… except us at Traffic so I went to the office to get things done. Afterwards I met up with Jeo and some friends to …

“Chief, esok Ahad 10am Klawang Ride. Pastu ke rumah mertua Aril pekena Sup Gearbox LSD Full Lock. Pls confirm number of person joining as Aril needs a headcount. Happy Wilayah Day…”
I received the above SMS from Botak on Saturday night; a day after my new ride came into my possession. I was itching to try the car out to see if there’s any underlying problems that may give me headaches in the future, and I was not really disappointed, unfortunately.
I met Botak at 9am at his house and we met …

Jousting with the Lancer-lots

We all know making assumptions is a big no-no but we just tend to assume every time we hear the word ‘Lancer’ that person is referring to the tarmac-thrashing and mud-mauling version of the Lancer family, the Lancer Evolution, unless of course you own the sedate version.

Regardless, the Lancer family isn’t just constricted to the Evo but includes Lancer Saloon, Lancers Mivec, Lancer GLX, Lancer MX, Lancer Cedia, and the current Lancer GT. Immediate family is nice but an extended family is where the fun be at and with that …

Tarmac-grazing into 2010

It’s been quite awhile since we had any touge session and I was quite reluctant to join when I was informed of the route the day before by another fellow touge enthusiast. Reason being I had a really late night out with my high school friends which some of ‘em I haven’t met for the last 15 years. I managed to catch some sleep at 5am only to be waken by my dad at 6am to move my ride as he needs to get his early fix of golf and …

Quest for the Silk Road – Vientiane, Laos – an AROC Adventure

The members of the Alfa Romeo Owners Club (AROC), who are also known as ‘Alfistis’, are truly an adventurous, daring and active lot who seem to enjoy challenging long distance driving and travelling in their Italian stallions, so much so that they go the full distance where ownership experience is concerned.
Recently at the newly renovated SDAC (Sime Darby Auto ConneXion) Alfa Romeo centre in Section 14, Petaling Jaya, Selangor, AROC members from all over the country, including those from the neighbouring island Republic of Singapore, came together to support, …

Year-End “Santai Ride” to North Thailand and back!

This was the last expedition organized by Israq Adventure to close the curtains of 2009 with a bang. It was originally planed as the Cambodia Ride but due to a number of unforeseen circumstances, the organizer decided to change it to North Thailand Ride. Turned out the change of destination was a good decision. The riders get to ride on their own pace and have the freedom to stop whenever they feel like it.

To the riders this particular ride was deemed the “Santai Ride” as it was relaxing rather than rushing …

On the  13th November, the convoy made their way from the city capital,  Kuala Lumpur to Bangkok via Hatyai. As it was quite a long journey the riders had a rest and relax in Bangkok the day after.

UDMowners perform the ultimate deeds!

This month we were shocked by the news report of a freak accident that occured at the KB Mall in Kota Bharu, Kelantan where a turbo-charged Ford Laser plunged down two storeys and caused the death of two. My condolences to the family. It’s been hyped by the media that the accident was the result of modification done to the vehicle. Just my two cents though… but have they ever consider the stupidity of the driver instead of the modification?

I have had enough of this blaming game by the media …

Berjaya Hill Climb - Climbing to success

It might not have been Pike’s Peak but the sexcitement generated at the recently concluded JPM Berjaya Hills Time Challenge 2009 might as well have been from the slopes of the acclaimed hill-climb challenge.
After a lapse of 30 years, a proper hill-climb challenge infested with the who’s-who of automotive exotica was just the right thing to celebrate a year of accomplishments in motorsports for the country.

There’s no route to a satisfying hill-climb other than with a properly laid out route and rightly so the event was held over at the …

kakikereta.com’s Interclub TT Session

We were really tired after spending the early part of the day at the workshop, getting Syawal’s car fixed due to faulty driveshaft. Getting straight to bed was just what I needed but then he really needs to get the alignment done so off we went to Sunway.
From there, we made our way to Sepang International Circuit to cover the finals of MAM Rally Sprint. It was an event not to be missed… but that’s another story though. Once we’ve finished snapping pictures, we realized that it was already 9.00pm… …

Touge Gombak - Batang Kali - Genting Sempah - Bentong and back! + More pix

It was a busy weekend for us here at TRAFFICmagonline as we had three events to cover on Saturday and on the way back from Tarmac Rally at SIC, I received an information from viable sources of a morning touge session the day after.
So when I was on my way to the Kakikereta.com Interclub TT Session, I was contemplating (besides enjoying the aircond on Syawal’s car) to join the touge session or not, since two weeks earlier, to satisfy my craving for Coffee Beans’ Ultimate Mocha, my car understeered while …

Touge Session at Kuala Klawang

It was 1.30 in the morning when I received a call from Am, telling me there was going to be a touge session at 3.00pm this Saturday (last weekend). First thing came to mind. Don’t they realize that it’s the fasting month? The adrenaline rush would surely give me stomach cramps. I don’t know about the rest of ‘em but that would surely be the case with me.
Second thing was, how in the heck are we gonna shoot the touge session as the planned route is narrow and curvy to …
