CASTROL REWARDS CONTEST WINNERS WITH A FACE-TO-FACE MEETING WITH CRISTIANO RONALDO AT REAL MADRID’S VALDEBEBAS

Castrol, the world’s leading premium lubricants specialist, recently rewarded 3 lucky winners from Malaysia with an unforgettable journey to Madrid where they met Castrol Global Ambassador Cristiano Ronaldo and trained at the fabulous Real Madrid training facility at Valdebebas.

The memorable trip was a result of an integrated Castrol campaign for its consumers and trade partners. The winners were Goh Su Chin from the Castrol EDGE “Kick it Like Ronaldo” contest for consumers, Tan Haan Chiang who won the Castrol “Meet Ronaldo in Madrid” Trade Challenge for Distributors and Tan Geok Heng from the Castrol Power 1 Pour & Win contest for Motorcycle workshop mechanics.

Besides the once-in-a-lifetime experience of meeting with the 2009 FIFA World Footballer of the Year, Castrol also arranged for the winners to experience and enjoy the sights and sounds of Madrid. The trip included a trip to the famous shopping area of Las Rozas and a visit to the Escoril Monastery Palace. A special dinner was also organized on the last day at the world-famous La Moreria, a classic Spanish tapas restaurant which showcased a world-renowned Flamenco show.

But the highlight of the trip was undoubtedly the opportunity to meet Cristiano Ronaldo at Valdebebasand train with the Real Madrid coaching staff. The training was a fun mix of skills and endurance, held in chilly evening conditions. All participants were given an exclusive Castrol training kit which they changed into at their very own player’s locker room.

“Meeting Ronaldo and training at the Valdebebas was beyond anything I ever imagined. I thoroughly enjoyed the kick-about with Real Madrid trainers on the field and the opportunity to speak with Ronaldo personally. We even got him to autograph our training kits,” said Tan Haan Chiang, Castrol Distributor from Kedah.

For Tan Geok Heng, a motorcycle workshop owner from Pagoh, catching the Real Madrid game was unforgettable.

“To be in the Real Madrid Trophy Room with all the Cups the team and players have won was fantastic. I especially treasured the experience as Castrol guests were given VIP treatment the whole way through – from the pre-game cocktails right through the great seats we got.”

The icing on the cake, according to Goh Su Chin the winner from Castrol EDGE “Kick it Like Ronaldo” contest from Penang, was Ronaldo scoring his first hattrick of the season for Real Madrid. “I was so happy to be a part of a milestone moment for Ronaldo at Real Madrid. This journey to Madrid exceeded all my expectations. From football and food to the history and culture of Spain, this trip has been an awesome personal experience.”
