Burns rubber before curtain for Driven Season 1 comes to a close

The Driven automotive television program turned into reality on 11th April 2010 and it begin to feed the masses who were hungry for local motoring content on their television screens. The show quickly gained popularity among hardcore and passionate  motoring enthusiasts and the general public alike, thanks to a content platform that outlines informative segments presented in an entertaining fashion.

Thus far Driven has aired up to eleven exciting episode, each containing auto reviews that range from more affordable vehicles to the ones that only a select few can put their hands on. Episode 1 showcased cars like the diesel-fueled BMW 730Ld while the second episode was highlighted by the review of the environmentally friendly Toyota Prius. The following week Driven carried out it’s first ever shoot out, between two of the hotest MPVs available in the local market: The Proton Exora and the Perodua Alza. As the season progressed the program bagged many reviews on cars like Alfa Romeo 159, the all-new BMW 5-Series (F-10) and the BMW x1.

The show also showcased other interesting segments such as a story about Klang Valley’s transportation system as the hosts carried out various tasks using different transport modes. Driven also dived into the nostalgic world of classic cars with special features on a 1931 Ford Model A and a gorgeous Volvo P1800S. Driven is close to it’s Season 1 finale and has two more episodes to go but before the curtain closes Driven has lined up a special high-octane experience for contest winners of the Double Barrel Hunt at the Sepang International Circuit.

Ten lucky weekly winners winners were invited to the Driven Track Day on 25th June where they were joined by selected members of the media and VIPs in a once-of-a lifetime experience. Guests had the chance of being chauffeured in a track-ready Lotus 2-Eleven open top race car from local motorsport outfit Empire Motorsports. Also present was a Honda DC2 race car from Team TeleVAS, which recently took part in the Sepang 1000 kilometers endurance event.

The DC2 was piloted by Driven’s very own Nurul Alis who was on of the first few in the country to prove that women can race too, just as good as men. Another highlight of the event was a driving session that allowed participants to further heighten their adrenaline. They were allowed to try out the North Track with various BMW vehicles courtesy of Auto Bavaria Sg. Besi.

The authorized distributor of BMW vehicles made available five new models including the freshly-launched 523i (F10). This new executive sedan was joined by the new BMW X1 xDrive20d, BMW 320d, BMW 325i Sports and the high-performance BMW 135i Coupe. Keeping the cars in check on track was a BMW Z4 sDrive35i pace car driven by Driven’s Harvinder Singh Sidhu. The event also had two Hypertune Project Cars on display including a tuned-up Honda Civic Type-R and a Corolla Levin were accompanied by four Hypertune Models.

The website also has information about all the cars featured in the show and viewers can also interact with each other in the comments section. The website also housed the 10 week took home fabulous prizes such as BHPetrol vouchers, Nokia mobile phones including E25s and the N97 Mini, V-KOOL as well as Ultra Glass Coating Neo rebates.
