Art of Speed Malaysia Icon Tour rocks Johor!

From shiny American muscle cars to rustic looking Harley-Davidsons or Triumphs, those are some of the many uncanny sights greeting enthusiastic visitors of Art of Speed Asia 2014 that happened last June in KL.


Besides those who were present to witness it, many would have heard of the event that brought the local customization scene to the next level – organized by Switchblade Kuala Lumpur, a rock and roll boutique and avid enthusiast of Kustom Kulture. Now, the organizer is bringing all the local icons on a tour to introduce the fascinating automotive culture to those who were not able to come to Kuala Lumpur to attend the show.


Their first leg was Ipoh and last weekend, the show promoter held their second leg of the tour at Johor. Presented by UEM Sunrise Sdn Bhd with venue hosted by Mall of Medini, Art of Speed Asia brought the family-friendly show to the mall next to Legoland at Nusajaya, Johor last 14 and 15 November 2014.


More than 20,000 visitors and participants from all over Johor and also Singapore thronged the massive adrenaline zone and automotive show area at the mall’s outdoor car park.


Art of Speed Malaysia Icon Tour Johor featured an Icon Tour Display Showcase and activities including a Marketplace, Art Gallery, Kustoms and Coffee sessions with Pa’din Musa from Abah & Sons Motoworks (Malaysia), Joop from Singapore and Izam Shariman from Curro Malaysia, outdoor movie screening, a cool pop-up barbershop, Remote Control Drift Competition by RC Drifters Kulaijaya, viewing deck with fun games and prizes; live bands on stage include an I’M Singles Virtual Concert with MARIONEXXES, The Nationhead and Clique as well as an all-star lineup featuring Kugiran D’Tepi Pantai and Malaysia’s ‘Jimi Hendrix’ Md Noor and much more!

Kustom Talks

Participants of Art of Speed Malaysia Icon Tour also stood a chance to win Best of Show titles and other competition categories in Car, Motorcycle and Lowrider Bicycle.


The event also hosted the Johor edition of MOTACK 2014, organized by Cycle World Malaysia. This Johor edition featured trial bike riding, stunt shows and bike clinics. Special stunt performances by Aaron Twite from USA were held over a period of two days, 3 times a day. Twite hails from Atlanta, USA and is now on tour in Malaysia for MOTACK. The adrenaline track also featured twin brothers from France; Franck and Loic Vabre. Both performed motorbike and bicycle trial demos. Not forgetting the local boys, MOTACK also featured three teams from Malaysia. They are ChainStuntNation, StreetslideJB and KLFreeStyleCrew. Alex and Suhaidi also performed a special supermoto demo in the adrenaline track area. Acoi from Kuala Lumpur also performed a special trial bike demo show.
