An Asia’s first – “On Track” Motorsport Training Institute

International Motorsports Academy (IMA), IRU1 Motorsports and ART GRAND PRIX, Italy signed a separate Memorandum of Understanding that will continue numerous efforts for Malaysian vocational education transformations that shall lessen the gap between the Motorsports industry and academic provider. The partnership between these three parties shall enjoy a limitless feed of young, talented and professional motorsports devotee for the much-needed Malaysian Motorsports industry especially in karting, car drift, rally, cub prix, supermoto and super bikes racing.

IMA, the pioneer Motorsports industry’s vocational training academy, will be in full force as Asia’s first – “On Track” training institute. IMA is established as “The Breeding” ground for future champions, an International Education Hub for the Motorsports industry, supplying talented young and professional 2-wheel & 4-wheel engineers, racers, Motorsports PR and Branding enthusiast by October 2013 when its first batch graduated.


Our vision is to transform local and international youth into knowledgeable, skillful and consciously intelligent experts in motorsports. With the aim to produce world class professional, who have the knowledge, developed skills and skilled labor in motorsports industry for the world.

All IMA courses are running in garage-based and classroom settings teaching environment. The IMA team includes professional drivers, international racers, experienced racing instructors and industry coaches who have worked within motorsports industry from go kart to Formula Renault and BMW, from world rally championship to D1 drift, from cub prix to supermoto and World GP, for local and international teams.

IMA courses are designed by the industry practitioners in the industry; and give hands-on experience and industry access to the students. All courses are entirely real-life-based and are conducted by current industry professionals in a simulated racing atmosphere – a far cry from other institutes training in a static classroom and a garage environment. IMA instructors are inevitably well qualified and they focus on more than basic engineering for the 2-wheel & 4-wheel vehicles. We provide students the hands-on experience that they will need to build a successful career. The tips, tricks, and insights gathered from our many years of field experience are invaluable to both beginners and experienced students.


We are pleased to bring you our specially designed, tailor-made and based on Ministry of Human Resource’s NOSS (National Occupational Skill Standard) which will lead to the 6-months Skills Malaysia certification, accredited by the
Department of Skills Development (DSD).

IRU1 Motorsports, through its Young Drivers Program, is in full support of IMA as our Educational Partner and collaborate in providing the necessary training facility and workforce to support the development of expertise and skill sets of local knowledge workers in line with local and international market requirement.

While IMA’s Technology Partner, ART GRAND PRIX shall provide cooperation, systematic well thought out technology and knowledge transfer, and endorse IMA’s graduates’ pathway to further their career and played as an advisory role in designing the courses.

IMA as an International Education Hub is in the process of applying for JPK’s Accredited Centre status. IMA is about being associated with a “World Class” training institute. It gives an exposure to some of the “Local & World’s Best Team, Drivers and Practitioners”. Our vision to produce world class professional youths who have the knowledge, developed skills and skilled labor in the Motorsports industry in the world, shows that IMA is serious in landing a hand to further develop a Malaysian knowledge workforce that is productive, informative, discipline, caring and responsive to the changing labor environment towards increasing the economic growth and hence create more job opportunities. Apart from that, IMA’s vision to be Asia’s first Private Motorsports and Automotive University handling motorsports education and activities and become the leader in development of nation’s human resources will be achieved.

Our ultimate aim is to build a FIA International approved integrated state-of-the-art Motorsports and Automotive Education Hub with segments to meet all kinds of motorsports activities for karting, car drift, 800m drag strip, rally cross and motocross as well as the main campus of IMA Motorsports and Automotive University.
