The day started early for the Blue Jackets Society as they were invited to join in and bring some happiness into the lives of more than 100 orphans from various orphanages today. It was all thanks to the Royal Selangor Club to organize such event. The Blue Jackets Society rendezvoused at the Equatorial Hotel Kuala Lumpur as early as 9.30am.
As they arrived, a number of guys were already there all armed to the grit with their cameras to capture the beauty of the supercars. This friendly young bunch are the Malaysia exc Hunters. They’ve been here and there to capture a glimpse of these supercars all around Malaysia.
After a light breakfast, we made our way to the Royal Selangor Club to join up with the classic car owners and fellow bikers to entertain about 100 kids from various orphanages. This is an annual effort organized by the Royal Selangor Club Motorsports Section. The Blue Jackets managed to gather more than 20 supercars adding up the fun with more than 50 classic cars of various makes parked at the Royal Selangor Club.
There was a fender bender as a Gallardo smacked into a Porsche sandwiching it in between another 911S. Despite the mishap, the drivers were sporting enough to let it slide and continue with itinerary of the day.
While the kids were entertained with various activities and fun, drivers were briefed and right after lunch, we took the kids on a joyride towards the TUDM Museum situated in Sungai Besi Airfield. All the way there, we can the smiles and joy of all the kids as they were given a VVIP treatment and chauffeured to the museum.
Once arrived, even the drivers were excited as most of ’em didn’t even know the museum existed. I’d say some A&P would do more good than harm to expose the museum to the masses. It would be a great place for parents to bring their kids rather than just wait for the annually held LIMA held in Langkawi. It’s way much nearer hence cheaper to go compared to the latter.
All in all, kudos to all drivers and bikers who spend their weekend entertaining the kids and making it a day to be remembered. It’s worth all the wait and sweat just to see their gleaming eyes and smiles all throughout the day.
