Ever since Volkswagen revive the Scirocco into the scene of hot hatches, the Scirocco have gained an equivalent reputation similar to its elder brother Golf. Especially in Malaysia where every motor enthusiasts in need of more new faces to strut the streets of Kuala Lumpur. The number of owners had grown to a point that it’s essential to have a club to belong to. One of the fresh new VW clubs in town are the Scirocco Club Malaysia which consist of loads of young blooded drivers with needs for speed.
For this, the president had organised their very first inaugural speed session to Malacca. The run started with 13 cars from Kuala Lumpur before joining the others from the southern region in Malacca for the meet up.
Along the way, the convoy had to ease off the throttle as there was a bit of a bumper to bumper on the highway with some added heavy rain. The crawl was due to an event down south, pulling the crowd even more to contribute to the traffic jam. As the the gap widens, the Italian wind from the Sahara started to pickup their so-called hurricane speed with Shahril, the President, leading the pack.
Being the enthusiast bunch these Scirocco owners are, zig-zagging to keep the convoy line intact was imminent. Even during the heavy rain, these superior VW hatchbacks prove their handling’s worth through that slippery tarmacs. The other cars were slowing down but these guys weren’t. The wind kept gaining momentum till they had reach their destination.
The Sciroccos funnel up for lunch before heading to the beach front for some group shots before heading back for some more catching up session with their southern counterparts. According to the president, there will be more spirited run in the future for its club members to stretch their legs further, maybe a run to the northern region. Hope to see it happen. Winds of change indeed, Sciroccos.
